What are YHIMS club activities and how do they work?
- Students are encouraged to create, join and participate in a wide range of club activities offered at YHIMS. The clubs are led and managed by the students and teachers provide support and guidance whenever necessary.
Who can create and lead a school club?
- Any student can create and lead a new school club provided they are given permission from their parents and they have a good behavioral record. Students are encouraged not to create a new school club if an identical club is already in existence in the school. The exception to this is if the existing school club is full and there is demand within the school body to justify the creation of a second club.
When do school club activities occur?
- The second afterschool period of every Thursday is reserved specifically for club activities. Students are also encouraged to participate in club activities outside of regular school hours on weekdays or Saturdays provided the school is open and YHIMS staff are present.
What are some examples of current YHIMS clubs?
- There are over two dozen clubs currently in existence at our school, including, but not limited to, English Parliamentary style debate clubs, School Newspaper club, Science clubs, and Pen pal clubs.
